Hello again! I hope you’ve been waiting for the next part of BTS MV theory which, as you know, is very complicated And one theory has many other theories So I hope you’ve been waiting! Thank you for many many many comments and views on previous 2 parts In this part, I will focus on 2 other MVs Save Me and Blood Sweat & Tears As you know, Save Me is a really easy MV or at least seems to be and Blood Sweat & Tears is a very complicated MV with a lot of hidden religious or art symbols and it’s based of the book Demian So, wait for it! Here we start! If you think that Save Me is just MV with choreography… You’re right to some extent However, it is possible to find there some theories and connection between this MV and the whole story It is definitely more easy than the previous ones like Run or Fire But I managed to find a few theories Not too many because there are only a few theories for Save Me on the Internet Maybe it’s because of the simplicity of this MV and it seems to be choreography in the middle of the field But I will tell you a few theories I managed to find and I will add to them my own thoughts In ‘Save Me’ BTS show their feelings through dance and the lyrics But you can find a few symbols in the MV as well They are on an empty meadow or a field which can whether mean emptiness or that they have no place to go or there is no way to escape or there is noone nearby who can help them and save them If you look close, you can notice something on the ground which looks like pieces of a broken glass which can be a metaphore of broken dreams (it sounds better in English, nevermind) Especially because Jimin sings about that that he doesn’t want to be in this dream anymore and he wants to wake up I want to wake up I hate being in this dream We can also notice wind and stormy clouds So we know that something is about to happen Definitely something big and important is about to happen soon They don’t want to continue this and they just need someone to save them At the end of the MV, we can see ‘BOY MEETS_’ And that’s it It means that they don’t know what will happen and what their future will look like But we can interfere with their future and help them a bit and they ask us to do it Save Me MV was easy and had meaningful lyrics and after that, BigHit Entertainment dropped a bomb on A.R.M.Y and this bomb was Blood Sweat & Tears MV And there, on the other hand, happens TOO MUCH There are also many theories for this MV analysed in various ways so I will start from what’s sure – members are paired up We can see it on the teaser pictures Suga is with Jimin J-Hope with V Jungkook with Rap Monster and of course there is one left alone – Jin This time I won’t say he’s dead because I don’t think like that But it depends on your opinion The MV starts in a museum Jin is watching a painting The Fall of the Rebel Angels Bruegel’s painting I’m sorry, I have no idea how to pronounce this name You perfectly know that the Angels fall when they rebel against God and they come to Lucifer’s side Which is also a presage of what is about to happen BTS are sinners Jungkook and Rap Monster show the story of Icarus and Daedalus Daedalus was a was a skillful craftsman he created wings of wax for his son Naive Icarus didn’t listen to his father’s warning Deadalus told him that he shouldn’t fly close to the sun He didn’t listen to him and he did it The wings melted and Icarus died, falling into the ocean We have a few references to this myth in Blood Sweat & Tears The first reference is Jungkook dangling from a swing against the background of the painting ‘The Lament of Icarus’ by Herbert James Draper What’s really interesting, his way of dangling is similar to the one shown on the painting and in the following scene we can see feathers falling around him RapMon is Daedalus in this story and there are 3 ways to prove it First of all, Rap Mon is a leader and Jungkook is maknae Secondly, the scene from the beginning of this MV where Rap Monster reads something to Jungkook So he educates him just like Daedalus educated Icarus 3rd one is the scene when RapMon melts the wax and the scene where Jungkook licks this wax off his finger J-Hope is seen in front of Michelangelo’s Pieta a sculpture showing the Virgin Mary holding the dead body of Jesus Christ What’s more interesting, J-Hope’s solo song from the album WINGS is called MAMA Coincidence? I don’t think so Then we can see all the members sitting at the long table This scene reminds us of The Last Supper Each member also has an apple on his plate An apple is a symbol of sin It’s a reference to the story about Adam and Eve and the banishment from Eden Of course, as always something happens to Jin he turns around like something distracted him or like he’s the only one who still can resist J-Hope shoots an arrow at V It lands at his face and splatters the colored liquid If we assume that V is the bad guy we can also assume that J-Hope is the one who wanna fight this evil Another reference to the myth about Icarus is the scene where V is sitting on the ledge of a balcony In the background we can see the painting ‘Landscape with the Fall of Icarus’ by Bruegel V just… Jumps So we can directly see this ‘fall’ Suga blindfolds Jimin We could see in the previous scene that Suga will be the one blindfolding Jimin because he had a blindfold in his hands Blindfolded Jimin can mean that he already gave up and accepted the evil He lost his way, the good path and he came to the dark side What’s more, Jimin is shown with apples on the teaser pictures I already mentioned that apples symbolize evil He also bit one of the apples in his ‘short film’ During the ‘red scene’, Jin lets go of his balloon And if we think about the following scenes, it also can mean that he finally gave up and also comes to this ‘bad’ side but as the last one In the last scene we can see everyone leaving the museum. Everyone except Jin Jin seems to be looking at something. V notices it and he comes to Jin He covers Jin’s eyes… And the whole scene suddenly changes Jin sees a sculpture of a fallen angel and comes closer And then something happened… Something that killed everyone who watched this MV Jin kissed this sculpture which can mean this final choice to give up and a pact with the Devil At the end we see V with wounds on his back which look like places where the wings should be It proves that he was the fallen angel and he was the bad one And he pulled Jin to this dark side It was the symbolical part of the Blood Sweat & Tears analysis in the context of Bible, art and mythology But we all know that this MV is also based on the Hermann Hesse’s book ‘Demian’ which is about problems and this youth dilemma There are many references to this book in BST MV so if you’re interested in this kind of analysis, let me know in the comments! Also if you have some other ideas for analysis or your own theories, write them down in the comments~! See you in the next video!
